They are always telling him 'maybe later', and his father in particular tells him to be happy with the old wagon he has. Reuben details for the readers some of the 'problems' with his own red wagon. Where to begin? This story had potential but it seemed more like one long run on thought. It still needs to be edited as there were a few mistakes. I like that it seems to teach children not to envy others belongings and to appreciate your own things. But I did not like the quotes for "stuff" because I don't think kids will truly grasp what that means or being well off. I also think the "problems" with his wagon are vague and again kids don't know what problems a wagon could have unless they're older. I would've liked to see some further rationale as to why he suddenly decided his old wagon was "appreciated" after such a protest for a new one, Especially after stealing his friends wagon over night and lying to his friend that he was"keeping it safe" when he really felt guilty for taking it. Which is another topic that young children may not understand especially since he didn't apologize but rather hid the truth.

I won this e-book on Library Thing's member giveaway in exchange for an honest review. ( )
