This is the traditional tale, but updated with illustrations from Innocenti that indicate the story is taking place during the roaring 20's - flapper dresses, cloche hats, etc. None of the details in the text have been modernized, which makes the story vs. the illustrations cause a little bit of cognitive dissonance. Probably only for adults, though. I think the artwork is lovely, if a bit dark. I'm thinking this edition would most likely appeal to older kids/teens/adults because half of the fun of Cinderella for little girls is seeing her in a giant poofy prom-type dress. Cinderella's flapper-gown is beautiful but not exactly the prom-type. There's a lovingly drawn detail art of cavier and champagne, the 1920's-style vintage cars are gorgeous, the wedding scene divine. The art does seem like it would hold most appeal for an audience with a taste for vintage! ( ) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
In her haste to flee the palace before the fairy godmother's magic loses effect, Cinderella leaves behind a glass slipper. The illustrations set the story in 1920s London. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
