In the first story, Widdershins, Whyborne and Griffin uncover an unveiling of a local black coven's centuries old plot to release a dark beast from another dimension into Widdershins, and take over the world. This plot has quite personal ramifications for both men.
In Threshold the duo once again are tasked to save the world when Whyborne's father hires Griffin to find out the truth behind the mysterious goings on at his coal mine.
Stormhaven, the third story of this series, has Griffin tasked with clearing the name of Whyborne's fellow museum employee who has been framed for the murder of his uncle (and again leads to saving of the world LOL).
I am very much enjoying this series. It is a very nice blend of mystery, romance, adventure, humor, supernatural escapades and, of course, saving the world. The main characters are well drawn and I enjoyed both of them, along with Christine, a side character who cannot be forgotten. My only small complaint would be that the main characters are just a little too insecure, although it is these insecurities that, to some extent, bring out the basic nature of their personalities.
I'm certainly looking forward to reading on with the rest of the series, the only question is if I will be able to make myself wait until Christmas! (
