I felt this stopped abruptly ( ) As a child the heroine's gold-digging, kid of whore-ish mother took her away from her father and from Scotland. All these years she's been fed lies about her father a grew bitter over the fact that never once wrote to her or called or tried to find her. But after a near death experience she's decided to return to the highlands and reconcile with him. But she's too late. She discovers that her father has been murdered. As well as she starts to understand that her father was nothing like how her mother painted him. He was loved in his community and wrote her soo many letters that she never got due to her mother. There she meets the local bartender, a man with a smooth Scottish brogue and a gorgeous face. She's got no idea that he's in fact a Draegon employee and that he's also a dragon shifter. The hero wants nothing to do with the mating craze sweeping through his family but when he meets the heroine he's instantly but reluctantly enraptured by her. She's reserved and very self sufficient-almost too much as she has no ties to the people around her and has trouble making friends. But her home town and the people around her help to bring her out of her loner tendencies. Then she finds out that as the last of the Campbells and as a result it's up to her to serve as her ancestors have and guard the gateway to Draegon land. I thought this book was good but as usual I found myself falling asleep after half way through. I think it had a good start. I liked the hero who was neither tortured or moody but rather a very 'normal' man-despite his true shifter form. I liked the heroine because she reminded me of myself in a lot of ways-always on the outside looking in-afraid to grow attached to anyone. All the elements were there but despite this I was so bored. It didn't seem to have that spark, that extra something that makes your heart pound. It was a straight line against the board and didn't have any get up an go. I find this series to be hit or miss (with more hits fortunately)it just wasn't the case with this one. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
