Well I've been in New England, late 19th century London, and China during the Han Dynasty, having read White Horse Regression. What a trip! Truly suspenseful, the novel begins with a horrible murder and subsequently, the woman's girlfriend, Maggie, begins hypnosis with Glen Wiley, who is able to transport patients to their previous lives. This is where the novel's complexity and wonder begins.

Author Steve Lincahl has created several characters who learn they have been connected in previous time periods, their souls being reincarnated repeatedly. Three main characters, Maggie, Stuart and Glen, “regress,” seeking answers to the reason for the repeated murders, torture and kidnappings.

Fascinating to experiences the establishment of Buddhism in China, the Whitechapel murders, and the violence and despair of Vermont's dark side along with the characters. But I had to re-read earlier passages, sometimes, to keep the characters and events straight in my mind. I

These experiences are interwoven, including a white horse appearing in each time period, with the murder investigation in the present. Maggie, Stuart and other characters are desperately searching for a way to stop the tragedy in any of the time frames, for this will stop it in all of them.

I received a copy of the book from the publisher. This is an honest review. ( )

A Karmic Dance of Twists and Turns

What begins as a murder mystery evolves into a hypnotic investigation that uncovers the centuries-old connections between a cast of characters fated to repeat the circumstances, intrigues and tragedies of their past lives. Through a series of sessions in which the participants regress to Victorian London and ancient China, stories within the story unfold, relationships are defined and rituals revealed, more questions raised than answered until a disturbing and seemingly unbreakable pattern emerges.

Mr. Lindhal's suspenseful novel moves backwards and forwards in a karmic dance that also twists and turns; a profound and poignant narrative about reincarnation as it relates to love and friendship, vulnerability and power, the myth of inevitability and the possibilities for better times to come.

There are some very interesting concepts happening in White Horse Regressions, one of which being reincarnation. Hannah's girlfriend has recently been murdered and in an attempt to find her killer and gain closure, she hires Glen Wiley, who uses hypnotism to uncover past reincarnations. The thought being that souls tend to relive similar situations, thus helping to uncover their current lives mysteries.

This book played on many topics that I personally find interesting. First, I have always wanted to know more about hypnotism and if truly works. While that is up to yourself to decide, it is a fun way to "realistically" travel back in time for plot purposes. Second, I have always been open to the thought of reincarnation and the romanticism of souls finding each other over many life times. I also find Jack the Ripper to be a fascinating case, and have read books focusing on serial killers.

While this book seems tailored to me, it also has well formed characters, an interesting story line, and enough mystery to keep anyone entertained. Steve's Glen Wiley series is definitely an undiscovered gem, that is well worth the read. I am very happy to get to review this local author and look forward to more of his books.

I received this book as a Giveaway from Librarything.com

An awesome story that explores past life regression & how people could be connected to each other through multiple regression lives. I didn't want to put the book down. Mr. Lindahl's writing certainly reflects his history with theater, which I really enjoyed being part of his story as a former Thespian myself. He also has a great talent for weaving severely unrelated historical events together to make a fascinating mystery. This is his 2nd in a series of past life regression stores, but the story stands alone from the first, the only thing connecting them being the topic & Glen (whom I believe is the one to do the regression in the first book too). After reading this story I can't wait to find his first book about past life regression Motherless Soul. I always thought the concept of past life regression sounded fascinating, but Steve Lindahl created a story that not only made it fascinating to me, but made me want to learn more about the subject. I definitely would suggest this book to all my friends with similar interests & plan to reread it again hopefully in the near future. ( )

What an amazing read. From Victorian England to Ancient China a group of friends discover how their past lives have interconnected with their present lives and with their destiny. A must read. I won this from LibraryThing Members Giveaway for an honest review ( )

White Horse Regressions by Steve Lindahl tells the story of several interlocking lives, both past and present. Grisly murders in present-day Vermont are tied back to the quests of souls in ancient China for immortality. The unique plot is well-developed and the characters fully fleshed out. My only criticism of the book, if it can be construed as such, is its complexity; it is a little hard to keep track of the different characters’ past lives. But if you like your reincarnation story served up with a complex plot, then this book is definitely for you. It is certainly a thought-provoking twist on the whole whodunnit genre, one that yields rich rewards and spiritual insights to the careful reader.
