One reason I like it is because it has a lot of valuable information with fun facts on every page. An example is on page 5 with the stated fun fact, “A lionfish’s stomach can expand to 30 times its normal size.” Including fun facts is an interesting way to keep the reader engaged and provide new information. Another reason why I enjoy the book is because of the various text features that are implemented throughout it. There is a glossary, different maps with highlighted parts and a key to identify where coral reefs are located, fact file charts on each page, and there are real pictures of each animal or fish, such as the Green Turtle. The bid idea of this children’s book is to teach and inform about corals reefs and the different animals or fish that live in them. I also believe it is to show how we can help coral reefs because the final page is titled, “Reefs at risk” and discusses how reefs are in trouble and what people can do to help. This book is a great informational text that I would recommend for teachers to use in their classroom. ( ) I LOVED this book. I loved this book because the pictures in it were fantastic and very engaging. Not only did it have a picture of the organism that was being talked about on each page, but it also included a “fact file” which gave the reader the size of the organism compared to something they can relate to like a human hand. It also included where it lives and how endangered the organism is. The text features are also great because key words are not just bolded, but they are highlighted in a variety of colors, making it even more engaging to the eye. The main message of this book is to explain to students the different creatures of a coral reef. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
