Love these books, I always wish they were a tad longer but nonetheless they entertain me and I will be stalking Amazon for the next in the series :)

Just a little way into finding out about Bryan and we're thrown a curveball with regards to Hallie's best friend, what's going on there? Oh and how someone is high on the slap list grrrr Neil!

Looking forward to Book 3 and I hope it comes soon because I need to know, no really I NEED to know! Not joking, its essential I find out very soon! ( )

I am that fish on the line... totally hooked and going nowhere. This second installment of The Proposition has me hooked and not getting away... nor do I want to.

The foundation for this story has been built and, like the masterful storyteller she is, HM Ward is now giving us glimpses of the structure to the story. We still have the blackmail going on; there is the hint of drug use; Bryan's family hate Hallie; she fears for her life and Maggie's' and on and on. This is a complex plot told in straight forward style. We can only angst and hope for our characters to find their way to safety and maybe some sort of happily ever after.

These are flawed individuals. Broken by life's circumstances but not defeated. I recently heard Robert Redford describe the character he plays in his new movie as someone who realizes the situation he is in has no way out, but rather than give up, he fights to survive because that is all that is left. To that I add, there is always hope. Hope that you will survive, that your problems will resolve themselves, that you will find that opening that will help you change your life forever.

This is what I like about HM Ward's books. Her characters are broken but not defeated. Hope lingers and finds a way. ( )
