"Award-winning and fan favorite comics creator Jeff Lemire spins the tale of two star-crossed loved through space in time in TRILLIUM! It's the year 3797, and botanist Nika Temsmith is researching a strange species on a remote science station near the outermost rim of colonized space. It's the year 1921, and renowned English explorer William Pike leads an expedition into the dense jungles of Peru in search of the fabled "Lost Temple of the Incas," an elusive sanctuary said to have strange healing properties. Two disparate souls separated by thousands of years and hundreds of millions of miles. Yet they will fall in love and, as a result, bring about the end of the universe. Even though reality is unraveling all around them, nothing can pull them apart. This isn't just a love story, it's the LAST love story ever told. Collects TRILLIUM #1-8"--… (más)

Inventive, imaginative, dimension-crossing sci-fi. A lot of fun, and beautiful to look-at (the José Villarubia colouring definitely helps). Doesn't really add up to much, and doesn't really deliver on its promise. But it's a fun, exuberant, exhilirating ride — to get nowhere in particular. ( )

This is an example of Jeff Lemire doing what he does best - blending sci-fi, fantasy, time travel, dimension travel, and myth in an intriguing world populated by characters that have depth (he makes me think of the comic version of someone like Blake Crouch). I know his stories and especially his art style are often divisive, but I'm a huge fan of his work. He doesn't always nail the endings, but overall this is a great standalone original graphic novel. A charming fairytale that has been spun from Lemire's unique imagination. ( )

I love Lemire's illustration style especially applied to this kind of narrative. The story was...okay, I think it lacked something to really bring it home. At the end, Clay remembers something before he is blown up, but I have no idea what it is that he remembers? His "real" story? . That was a confusing detail. ( )
