This wonderfully-titled book by an even more fantastically-named Eufemia Fantetti is filled with little nuggets of goodness. All six stories draw you in and capture your attention and then make you wish the book were longer.
Unlike in most modern short stories, the characters are somehow well-rounded and you find yourself caring about them right away.

I'll be watching for more from this author. Somehow I think I'll remember her name. ( )

The book runs to a scant 86 pages, but book length isn’t the point here. Brevity and emotional impact is the point; essence is the point, and engagement. And her stories do engage.

Reminiscent of Lorrie Moore’s 1986 debut collection Self-Help, which also deals primarily with the problems of young love, Fantetti exhibits a similar sureness of touch and can be just as caustically funny.
