I could not get into this book. I liked the series this expanded on, but this book did nothing for me. :( This book is part of an ongoing series and as a reader I read this book cold turkey without any previous knowledge of the prior books. That said, I got into the book really fast as the author gave plenty of background information so the new reader is not totally lost. The crux of the story involves the ritual killings of young girls in an age of vampires, demons and humans and the search to find who or what is responsible. I can see fans of the Trublood based books liking this series a lot but the characters of this series lack the humor of the Trublood based books. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

That said, it was a little hard to follow at times -- I'm assuming that the print version makes it easier to discern memories and present tense.
EDITED TO ADD: apparently, the reboot is dead. How disappointing, since I enjoy reading de la Cruz's work, but her series are never completed. UUUGGGHHHH. ( )
