When the story begins, Mimi the Mynah only says “me” and “mine.” She’s selfish, never offering to help others and only concerned with herself. When a fire breaks out the other animals band together to fight it, but Mimi is nowhere in sight. Nobody is terribly concerned about her, except Charity. She goes to the mynah’s mine to check on her, and it’s a good thing she did, because Mimi was in trouble.

When some of the other animals help rescue Mimi, she appreciates it. But where will all the animals stay now that their homes were destroyed? Surprisingly, Mimi has a solution.

Mimi the Mynah: It’s All Mine reveals the importance of sharing and having compassion for others. The alliterative animal names and the lively illustrations are fun.
