I love the descriptive language in this book. Jonathan London did a great job incorporating an animal that is threatened by extinction to tell the story of two animals facing the odds in the wild. ( )

Two red wolves venture out, and in the end one of them gives birth to pups. What I really liked in this book is the afterword in the end. It gives information on how the red wolves almost became extinct, and not many of them are living in the wild now. I would read this book when I am discussing endangered species. Students need to be aware that because of hunters or destroying habitats, we can lose certain types of animals. This is important to me, and I want to make sure my students are aware on how serious is the issue. ( )

An informational picture book about the Red Wolf. Follows a pair through the seasons and shows how they survive. Wonderful depictions of wolves' activities and illustrations auit the subject matter perfectly.
