Her parents died from an earthquake so she went to go live with her uncle. Her uncle lived in a mansion but she was bound to one room. Mary wasn't used to following rules so she went sneaking around the different rooms in the mansion. She found her cousin, who was sick, and a garden that was locked up outside. Her cousin was even more spoiled and ruder than her but soon they became friends. She took him to the secret garden and they had a blast. When her uncle came back from his long trip, she was so scared she would be in trouble for taking her cousin outside and going into the garden but Instead her uncle was happy and thankful for making his son better. Personal reaction As a child I loved this book. Why? I don't know. I reread this book and it was still a good book but not one of my favorites. I wouldn't read this book to my children in my class because I don't think they would be interested in it. Extension Grow our own garden and read it during earth week. For older children I could make a volunteering activity out of this book and maybe have children read to younger children. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
