The institute in question is a safe place for 'talented' individuals. Tristan is a healer and Cam is a shapeshifter. For some reason every time I saw this title on my Kindle I envisaged a completely different type of story.
Great read. ( )

This was a cool twist on a special institute for individuals with special powers. Cam is a shapeshifter who has been afraid to let anyone know who he really is because of an awful past. Tristan is a doctor with healing powers who has been on the run since he was a kid because he was afraid of being taken away because of the powers. Cam and his team from the Delphic Institute came to rescue Tristan right before he was found by a group that would want to study him, and they offered him a place to live without fear.

Cam and Tristan have an immediate attraction to each other, and Cam really struggles with his feelings. He has never had or wanted a relationship before and has never wanted to let anyone get close to him. Watching him struggle with his feelings and learn how to open up was great. There was a very good story and some interesting challenges during missions. I really enjoyed this and am very much looking forward to reading more about the people at The Institute. ( )

I expected more from this book. A bunch of men and women with all kinds of paranormal abilities? Definitely more!

I skimmed through the first half of the book, nothing of big consequences catching my eye. It was all very mundane - laundry, TV, home cooked dinners, meals at cafeteria. No action. NO action at all. Meh.

But then I got over the hump and the ending, the mission to save an elemental, and what transpired during it and the aftermath was pretty awesome. Adding one full star for that :)
