Listening to A Stroke of Midnight again, I know that I was right: Nicca was mated by the ring to B. ( ) *sigh* I don't we'll ever get Merry or Anita back. Obviously, Hamilton is deliriously happy with her husband and their partners, because as I just posted in my review of [b:Affliction|15985372|Affliction (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #22)|Laurell K. Hamilton|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1350942756s/15985372.jpg|21739817], these two books practically ooze "we're all so much in love" all over the bookshelf. Love and romance, yay. Romance is my favorite genre. But I used to read Merry and Anita because they kicked ass. Now, not so much. Anita is coming back bit by bit, but I fear our Merry is gone forever. I'm giving this four stars because LKH did pretty much exactly what her fans wanted: BABY STORY. I really also love the worlds she creates. it is very obvious that her writing has dramatically changed in the past five years. I just reread Guilty Pleasures and it was awesome. The writing was so solid...it's almost as if someone else started writing her stories or she just really lost interest in Anita and Merry. I don't like how she seems to fill the pages with the same info over and over. She must have mentioned that the red caps were "between 7-13 feet tall" about eight times...for no reason. The stories just don't come alive for me anymore, but I think LKH introduced zombies way, way before they became the Walking Dead and she deserves accolades for reintroducing the masses to vampires, zombies, and weres. I see her as having had a pretty profound influence on many current writers. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
