Simple text introduces the sounds different frogs make, as well as a silent salamander. Crisp and vibrant illustrations. Back matter has an "About the Noisy Frogs" page with a few facts about each of the creatures featured in the book. Includes spring peepers, green frogs, American toads, Fowler's toads, American bullfrogs, pickerel frogs, Western chorus frogs, mink frogs, spotted salamanders (close relatives to frogs), Couch's spadefoots, Pacific treefrogs, and green treefrogs. An "Activities" page includes a link to accompanying sound files, as well as some further information and activity ideas. ( )

Designed for pre-K through grade 3, NOISY FROG SING-ALONG is the second book in this nature awareness series. The print book and e-book includes large, colorful illustrations of a variety of frogs from different habitats. Colorful text is used to introduce the sound of each frog. In addition to information about the frog and the sound, the habits and habitat of each frog is described.

This easy concept book would be an effective way to introduce young children to informational reading. In addition, the text is easy enough for primary grade readers to enjoy independently. The Fun Facts and Things to Do pages are useful for older children, teachers, and parents.

Active listening is an important skill. Getting children involved with identifying creature sounds is an excellent way to develop observational skills using the auditory channel. This book series would be an outstanding addition to an elementary school library collection. ( )

I won this book from Reader View Book Giveaway.

A delightful children's book, with vibrant colors that are sure to hold a little ones attention. What child can resist a story about frogs, this clever book has many facets to it, a sing-along as in the title, a cute story, and interesting facts about frogs. Noisy Frog Sing-Along from Dawn Publications will make a wonderful addition to a child's bookshelf.
