I received a copy of this book for review purposes from the publisher and received no compensation

The main plot of the book is based on a lady, the babushka lady, who may have possibly taken a video during the assassination, but has yet to come forward with this possible video. The book follows the daughter of the Babushka lady, who now has inherited the video from her mom after her mom passed away.

I enjoyed most of this book a lot. It was filled with suspense and plot twists. I loved the two main characters, Mr. Hammond and Sheila. The story line was interesting to me because the author really did his research and wrote the book around the events that occurred the day of the assassination. The book is not meant to be an possible explanation of what happened, but rather a historical fiction novel filled with action.

The only thing that I did not enjoy about this novel is that there was so much going on at one time that it was hard to keep the characters straight in my head. There were also some slow parts in the book, but overall it was very entertaining. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in American history and enjoys reading.

John F. Kennedy’s assassination is one event the world still questions today. Was there more than one person involved? Was there a conspiracy behind the entire thing? Was part of our government involved? Another country involved? These are just a few questions, and this novel makes them come to life.

Sheila Baker is thrown for a ride when she discovers her mother has left a video of JFK’s assassination in a safety deposit box for her upon her own death. As Sheila watches it, she is bombarded with the knowledge that this video will change her life. Just as her mother never felt safe after taping this, Sheila would not after learning of it and its contents.

Jason Hammond is a billionaire that Sheila discovers upon her internet search of who she could possibly trust to turn this video over to. It had to be someone she could trust. Someone who had nothing to gain or lose and in no way was connected to the assassination itself. Which ruled out all government official and media for that matter.

Jason’s hobby was solving seeming unsolvable secrets and showed up at Sheila’s door the very day she called him. The two spend the rest of the book running for their lives and the truth.

This book is a page turner and the author is very gifted in the way he weaves the story and events into something that just plays through your mind like a movie. But even closer, more personal, as if you, the reader, are actually involved. Every detail is carefully placed to reveal just enough as you read to fill I n the story but not ruin the ending. Every aspect is so well researched that there are no questions of this story at all being realistic.

I admit, I rented a movie about the assassination and would like to watch a few documentaries on the conspiracy theories people hold after reading this book. The best part. . . it is the first in a series. It reminds me a little of Clive Cussler’s Dirk Pitt series. Except, Jason is a little bit more down to earth and believable.

If you are searching for romance, this book is an adventure/suspense/mystery novel. There is room for romance as you read in between the lines. But this is not written for the romantic aspect. Still, I highly recommend it. It is an amazing story, and this author is one of the most gifted that I have run across. I am elated that I had a chance to review it.

Margaret Baker felt more than a little foolish in her makeshift disguise-an ovecoat she'd found in a box of her late mother's things, the prescription glasses she never wore, and a pink headscarf she'd borrowed from a friend."

You seek truth? Well, here is a truth I learned while sitting in that hotel room-God was not responsible for putting Batista in power, taking my parents away, or ruining my childhood. Men did that. Ordinary men like you and me. Men who had more power than they should have. Men who had evil in their hearts and the means to use it. I have come to believe that God has given us this world as one gift, and the chance to live in it as another. But what we do with it is up to us. If he did not want us to think for ourselves, we would not be able to. Misfortune is part of life, and evil is part of humanity. It is sad, yes, and it is angering. But it is not God. God did not take my parents from me, Mr. Hammond.
