Review: Yes Ma’am by Kay Jaybee

Yes Ma’am is a collection of six Femdom stories written by Kay Jaybee.

Lying in Wait is the first of Ms. Jaybee’s stories. It involves Cadet Luke Porter and several senior cadets, a corporal and the sergeant who tells the others to finish Cadet Porter’s search and rescue exercise. He has done his best and has not found the victim who is the corporal and then suddenly she is where she is supposed to be. Cadet Porter’s anger at this is understandable, but stopped in the middle by the corporal and the two senior cadets, who decide to play with him, with the Sergeant’s blessing unknown to Porter. Of course, it is in a sexual manner.

My problem with Lying in Wait is that it doesn’t seem believable about Army dealings. I am not certain, but it appears to be set in England, so maybe the way their Army does things is different from the U.S. Other than that, it is a well written story to start out the collection.

Black is the next story. It is told in a narrative voice throughout, mostly past tense. He talks about meeting a woman on the train and how beautiful she is and how she accepts his phone number when he decides to ask this stranger for a date. They have arranged to meet at a small out of the way, yet exclusive club. He is led in and led by a very dominatrix woman to a room. In the narrative, he explains how until that moment he had never felt submissive, but knew he would be to this beautiful stranger.

The story continues, slipping in and out of past and present tense in a way that I found confusing at times. I am quite used to when a story is written in the narrative format, that it stays in one tense, unless very clearly delineated as otherwise, and for good reasons. Black felt as if the author couldn’t decide whether to tell it from a past point of view or a present point of view. This was my least favorite of all the stories in Yes Ma’am.

Don’t You Emma is the next story up in the collection. This one involves Lee, and his girlfriend Daisy and a stranger to him named Emma. Daisy has told Lee that he will be given a special reward if he simply sits in a certain chair. He assumes this will be an easy way to get laid by his girlfriend. Little does he know that Emma is there to teach him how a slave behaves and responds to her mistress. Suddenly, sitting still is not so easy. This is a good story overall. I found it to be one of the two I liked most.

Dear Claire is an interesting read. Two roommates. One has a boyfriend, and the other is smitten with him. Ali is a bit put out by the loud noises of apparent sex going on in Claire’s bedroom. She and Claire were supposed to be having a private girl’s party and Claire’s boyfriend Rick has crashed the party and ended it before it began. Claire needs to go out for a bit and asks Ali to take Rick a coffee. When Rick doesn’t respond to Ali’s calls that the coffee is in the kitchen, she goes exploring. What she finds both surprises and arouses her.

Rick is trussed up well in Claire’s bedroom. He is unable to hear or see due to the headgear that is being used. Ali decides to keep it that way so that she can have some fun with the man who has had her fancy for some time. When she finds a red pen, Ali begins to write letters to Claire on Rick’s skin. The story progresses and Ali leaves one final message to Claire written somewhere on Rick.

This was an erotic story that I enjoyed. It had some interesting elements of BDSM to it that I have not experienced and some I will not (such as the hood). I would recommend this story to those looking for a quick, erotic read that includes BDSM.

Not Taking the Tube is a story definitely set in England. I realize now, that most likely all the stories were. It was only this story that made it very evident to me. A frazzled traveler who has an appointment is waiting for the train. He takes his frustration out on the diminutive guard who has the unfortunate timing of being where he can see her. When he finally finishes his ranting at her, she steers him to a secluded area and with quiet, seething fury unleashes on him all her frustrations. While doing this, she is also groping his genitals in a very harsh manner. He finds himself helpless and aroused. Read the rest to find out what more happens. (** overall)

Rachel’s Twisted Tale is a new retelling of Rapunzel. Rachel is being held in a small room on the second floor. She is kept naked except for the long plait of hair that snakes across the room’s floor. Tom has been coming to her window and climbing in via a ladder he brings for some time, though we don’t know just how long. They are in the middle of an intimate moment when Rachel’s captor quietly lets herself into the room. Madam is quietly both furious and envious. Whether it is of Tom or Rachel, one isn’t certain of. She leaves as quietly as she entered, plotting her revenge. So sorry, you’ll have to read the book to find out what happens next in Rachel’s Twisted Tale.

Following are some of the reasons that I gave Yes Ma’am a three star review. There were numerous grammar errors based on my knowledge of British versus American grammar rules, which are the same except for how British treat collective nouns as plural and the U.S. treats them as singular. I am not certain if it’s a hard fast rule about quotes being double quotes when characters are talking in dialog, but I did find it distracting as it goes against how I was taught in American schools.

Also, other than Dear Claire and Don't You Emma, the stories just didn't seem to be all that "heated" as I would have both liked and expected. None of the plots were stellar and in some cases, just didn't do it for me.

This collection of stories by Kay Jaybee just wasn’t anything special I am afraid. Dear Claire and Don’t You Emma are the only ones that appealed to me at all. ( )

There are six femdom tales in this anthology, six tales of women taking control and the men who submit before them. All-in-all a short tasty treat.

~Lying in Wait~
Cadet Luke Porter is a screw up. He ends up getting a lesson from three females as they push him beyond his limits. This is my favorite of the six stories. Gotta love the military.

~Black~
The woman in black who owns the unnamed man, told from his POV. This is my second favorite story.

~Don’t You, Emma?~
Lee is made to sit and watch his girlfriend dominate a new girl named Emma. I didn’t care for this story because I didn’t like Lee. He’s not very obedient.

~Dear Claire~
Ali’s friend Claire leaves her a present, her very handsome boyfriend who is actually a sub. Ali puts good use to the items in the room, including a pen.

~Taking the Tube~
An irate passenger yells at an Underground official who in turn drags him to a secluded corner and has her way with him. I like this since it’s sex in public.

~Rachel’s Twisted Tale~
A hot fairy tale retelling about Rapunzel. I didn’t really care for this story either. I’d say it’s my least favorite. ( )
