Blinded in a freak accident, Kai's vision is restored years later through a transplant. His new eyes, however, can't seem to focus on anyone but Dr. Hizuki. Is it because of the doctor's alluring scent, which Kai finds strangely familiar?

I didn't find anything particularly drawing or unique about this manga, but it's a solid story that didn't annoy me as much as a lot of yaoi. The main attraction here I'd say is the plot/premise. A man gets a cornea transplant, only to find he is attracted to the doctor, who apparently donated the corneas of his deceased love for the transplant, so part of him would live on. Unsurprisingly, the doctor's actually a bit cold, and tries to convince the patient it's a mere infatuation caused by the doctor/patient relationship, whilst he convinces himself he is only attracted to the patient because of the connection with his former lover. The characters are pretty nondescript and kind of flat, but at least they don't have the exaggerated seme/uke personalities that often to me flatten out bland characters even more. Also, while their attraction to one another is understandable (what reason do you need for attraction?), their motivation to go to such lengths for one another is quite questionable. While this usually annoys me to no end, I think I may have taken it slightly more with a grain of salt here, as the story is loosely based off the Snow Queen, and while set in the real world and modern times, it retains a slight bit of the fantastical feel of a fairy tale, and thus I was able somewhat to throw psychological realism out the window, they way we are always trained to do with such stories.

If you're looking for something that will really pull you in and ravage your emotions... Personally I don't think this is it. But if you've got cash to spare and are simply looking to add something not entirely bad to your collection, this could be a good addition. ( )

The artwork is pretty but the manga reads like a rushed one-shot in which the characters instantly fall in love and go to great lengths to be together without an ounce of common sense about why.

In style and story, it is similar to Jazz by Sakae Maeda, teaming up an icily reserved doctor and his young patient with sparing text and very minimal background drawings. ( )
