You can't help but feel for her and all she is going through. This read like a very authentic camp summer, and took me back a bit. ( ) In theory, I really should not have enjoyed Camp Boyfriend. Camp Boyfriend dealt with a very controversial subject: love triangles. I usually hate love triangles because I feel like people should just be upfront on their feelings. Who needs so much angst in their life? When I first started reading this book, I thought: “great, I’m going to hate this”. And surprisingly, I didn’t hate it. It was the exact opposite, actually! I’m going to be honest here, Lauren was a bit annoying at first. She decided that she wasn’t going to be with either boy until she sorted out her feelings first, which I really admired. However, in the next scene she’d be making out with one of them. It was really contradictory. Nevertheless this gets better later on. I like how this story wasn’t just about Lauren and her big love triangle. There were also some subplots on friendship, and family, and overall accepting and loving yourself, which I enjoyed. I really liked the romance in this story. Lauren’s relationship with both of them was really sweet and it was nice seeing that she was a different person with both guys. I think at the end her choice was more about which version of herself she liked the most, of if she even liked who she was around each guy. Overall, this was a cute and fluffy book that I read very quickly. If you don’t like love triangles, you may not like this book so much (although I hate love triangles and seemed to enjoy it…). They said it couldn't be done, but geeky sophomore Lauren Carlson transformed herself into a popular girl after moving to a new school half-way across the country. Amazing what losing your braces and going out for cheerleading will do. Only trouble is, the popular crowd is wearing on Lauren's nerves and she can't wait to return to summer camp where she's valued for her brain instead of her handsprings. She misses her old friends and most of all, her long time camp-only boyfriend, Seth. This year she intends to upgrade their relationship to year-round status once she's broken up with her new, jock boyfriend, Matt. He doesn't begin to know the real her, a girl fascinated by the night sky who dreams of discovering new planets and galaxies. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
