and I too am addicted to reading...god forbid i am stuck without a book.. I've read old receipts, repair manual chapters, AND cereal boxes too... My nightstand looks like the leaning tower of pisa..oops, i mean books. I can NOT imagine NOT reading.
After a few pages i asked my husband if he would consider moving to UP ( upper peninsula of Michigan ) just so i could plead my case in order to joining this unique book club. A book club unlike any other i've ever joined...these women purposely keep the group small and there is no 'everyone read the same book and then gather to critique it'. No. These women eat, chat, share and care. Simply put each one brings a few books and gives a quickie about each one. Who wants it next? Pass it over here and on it goes around the table. Each one brings their own perspective.
I read this and thought ALLELUIA ! I am not a mutant! There ARE others out there who think and feel exactly like i do about books a.k.a. treasure troves. There are book care commandments that i could have written myself. There are ways to organize/sort books. There are 'sandwich' books....for me i call it light fluff reading inbetween the heavier-duty ones.
God help me if i see folded down page corners or even worse..gasp...a broken book spine. I go into mourning. So please Ms. Kellis, can i move norther and be one of your groupies??
