C.C. Gibbs she has a certain JE NE SAIS QUO, WHICH I THINK IS OBTAINED WITH YEARS OF WRITING EXPERIENCE, HER WRITING IS ??dazzling and alluringƒ? and Panty dropping hot.

Meet Mr. Dominic Knight ƒ??Nickƒ?
Thirty two, Stanford graduate, adventure traveller, and a self-made billionaire whoƒ??d stopped counting zeroƒ??s long ago. Dominating arrogant bastard and a lover of kinkiness and of course, a control freak.

AND

Katherine Hart ƒ??Kateƒ? open, natural, whip smart, pretty and a forensic accountant.

I love to visualize a book, and this author gave me heaps of opportunity to do just that, from the way she described a fancy meals, exclusive hotel stays, beautiful clothes, and lots of sexiness ;-o

This book starts where Miss Hart has a job interview at Knight Enterprises, the most innovative venture-capital company in the world, and where she meets Mr. Knight

But when she hear him fight with a client, Kate flinched at the audible fury in Dominic Knightƒ??s voice. Her first reaction was that this job isnƒ??t going to work out as explosive people are a bad karma for her.

But of course Dominic gets what he wants.

When the job was completed by Miss Hart, which Dominic praised highly, he was not ready to let her go, and decided too see where the hot attraction between them will go so Dominic rearranged his schedule to allow him six sensual days of bliss with Miss Hart.

Dominic didnƒ??t believe in magic, but if he did, he would have found her magical. A sweet escape from the cynicism of his life.
Dominic stole my heart, I think my hubby needs to read this book and learn how you wake your lady :D

Like all romance series, this one ended with a twist, and a cliff-hanger. But luckily for me I could go straight to book 2, I loved this book and will highly recommend it for lovers of alpha males.

I shared music with a friend and these songs are perfect for this book ending, thank you Sophie ;-)

I really enjoyed this book. I've read a lot of these books in the style of 50 Shades and Bared to You and this is along those lines. Its worth a read if you like that genre, I believe its the first of a series with the second due in June! Had I realised I would have held off reading until the sequel was available as I'm so impatient and hate waiting for sequels! OMG just read the sequel isnt due until December?! Can I wait that long

Katherine is definitely not your shrinking violet, she's as tough as he is and I like that too that she doesnt immediately roll over and take his nonsense!

Hurry up December I'm waiting..... ( )

GAH another part of a damn trilogy! Doesn't anyone write single books anymore?

Then again I'm the sucker wanting to read it, so...

First of all - thank you for the signed copy! Won via Goodreads First Reads. This has in no way altered my judgement of this book and my review is honest.

I thought Knight's Mistress was going to be just another 50-Shades-esque book. The beginning was deja-vu - intimidating-billionaire-interview, instant-attraction and inner monologues. But it's not. This book is different. This book is real.

Knight's Mistress is set over a few short days, but just like falling in love those few short days seem to last forever. And that makes this book, no matter how unrealistic the circumstances, completely believeable.

Katherine is a strong character, a no-nonsense young woman who knows what she wants and will get it. She's strong, with her own opinions, and she's SMART. She's very smart.

Dominic is your typical more-money-than-sense but he still cares. He was never going to force Katherine into anything she didn't want.

Both characters are devastatingly manipulative with each other, but they both know it and it's like a game. The balance between the characters is excellent. It focuses mostly on Kate, but when Dominic gets his narrative voice it sets them on equal footing and strengthens them both as characters.

I didn't like the constant "Ummmm". Ummmm to me is an indecisive noise, the sound you make when you're not sure what to say. I'd have preferred some Hmmm and Mmmm and Ahhh to break it up a little, and "Ummmm" did distract from my reading a little.

And Katherine must be EXHAUSTED. Every single muscle in her body tensing and un-tensing in such quick succession, over and over? It's dangerous to be that sensitive!

The ending was not what I expected, but I was glad for the twist. Although not a major cliffhanger, I'd happily read on in this series, if only to see if things will get better. They have to, right?

I think I'll go drink some chocolate milk now. Or some coffee. I'm not a fan of either, but this book has put the notion in my head. ( )
