This delightful play, written by Julia Ellsworth Ford, is loosely based around Oscar Wilde's "The Selfish Giant." The dwarf character of Snickerty Nick is entirely original and the play centres around him. The little boy is only a loving and beloved child and Winter and Spring are personified by fairies and gnomes. A wonderful play full of magic and delight. Not bad. Not a great read either - but has one of my very favorite Rackham paintings, "The Little Boy," So there's that. ( )
