Oh, no! Burçak Veral--kickboxing transvestite, nightclub owner, Audrey Hepburn lookalike, and amateur sleuth--has finally been invited to strut her stuff on a local television show. But during her appearance, an angry viewer calls in vowing to kill off everyone close to Burçak. Later that night, the show's host is shot dead. What did Burçak do to infuriate the mystery caller? And in a city as chaotic as Istanbul, where does a girl even begin to look? Dressed to the nines and ready to fight--or flirt--Burçak sets off on a desperate manhunt in another delicious Turkish Delight adventure. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Burçak Veral is stylish and looks a lot like Audrey Hepburn when in drag. Invited onto a television show to discuss her life, a caller is offended - threatening to kill everyone close to her - one per week. Burçak knows this is serious and fears for the safety of her many friends, working around the clock to keep them all safe.
While Burçak is a fun character, she's also a very stereotypical drag queen and that lessens the impact of the book somewhat. Having said that, this is fun read and a glimpse into a part of Turkish culture I'd never even thought about before this book. While some of the translation could be better, overall this is a fun and fluffy (but not too fluffy) read. ( )
