But six years haven't come close to extinguishing his feelings, and when Jake comes across Todd's obituary, he can't keep himself away from the funeral. There he gets the glimpse of Todd's wife he's hoping for . . . but she is not Natalie. Whoever the mourning widow is, she's been married to Todd for more than a decade, and with that fact everything Jake thought he knew about the best time of his life--a time he has never gotten over--is turned completely inside out. 3.5 stars. Harlan Coben's book have a way of pulling you in. This one was no exception. It was one of those books that keep you reading late into the night just to try to figure out what happened. ( )
As a long time Harlan Coben fan, I was disappointed with this one. A poorly written plot with characters that were barely likeable made it a struggle to finish the book. Really glad this was not the first of his books that I have read because I would have missed out on some of his good ones. ( )
It grips your attention quickly and keeps you guessing. Similar humor to Miron Bolitar, and the character regularly addresses the reader (I didn’t care much for that). A few lose ends at the end. ( )
