This book was great on a number of points. For one thing, I like that Nate isn't the alpha of the pack. You do wonder how those other wolves feel about their places in the hierarchy. I like that Evina IS an alpha boss, who has been looking for a man who won't be threatened by that. Evina's children are adorable. Her mother is both exasperating and loving. It was neat to see Adam in a different light, not necessarily the infallible alpha. The mystery was both horrifying and intriguing, and the view of police procedure interesting. I really liked that Evina is a fortysomething single mother - that's my demographic!

Emma always writes great characters and great plots, and this was no exception. ( )

This book is more in the vein of the first book in this series (IMO just skip #2). Interesting world-building, interesting characters and a good balance between story and the amount of sex. I particularly like the hero's struggle with being an alpha but not being 'recognized' as such.
