Some interesting and unique fae fantasy elements, but some parts just did not connect right. ( )

This book had so much potential, but the characters fell flat. I loved this take on dark and light fairies, but the writing was definitely YA when the characters were NA. A love triangle developed in the novel, and the author could have developed it for more of a gut-wrenching punch in the end. The character's were expected to be loved without the depth that goes into a character to make then more rounded. The reader never really gets to know the main character. I developed more sympathy and a connection to the secondary characters.
Clean read.
Pre-teens would enjoy this novel. ( )

I thought this book was fantastic. It caught you up in the first few pages, with its descriptions and its fey inclusions. The story was inviting, the characters connectable--any story of the fey in the real world, in modern times, is always interesting to me to read, and this one didn't disappoint. It is obvious there will be more books to come, and I look forward to them! ( )

A fun look with a different perspective of Dark and Light fae. I would've liked a little more depth to the character histories of Kiernan and Avery but they are only 20...still family background or stories of growing up would have made them more...just more! Hope this story continues as I'd like to see how they both fare in their new environments and if they start in rich with Meghan. Cute, fun read. ( )
