So another "boy think girl does him wrong and years later when they see each other again after boy is a successful billionaire, he blackmails her into angry revenge sex because he needs to get her out his system" story. In this book, the boy was Alexi and the girl was Eva. Eva happened to be a friend of Layla from the last book and Alexi a friend of Nate's. For 8 years, Alexi has wondered why the love of his life just up and left, leaving him only a break up note. For 8 years he worked to become a rich business man. When given the chance, he buys a company to threaten livelihood of the entire small town she's from. Her father forces her to do "whatever it takes" to stop Alexi from ruining the town. Yeah. Disgusting. And of course what Alexi wants is to punish her. With sex. And she lets him. But she's keeping a couple big secrets from him that are pretty explosive.

This book very nearly lost me early on. Eva tells Alexi why she left all those years ago and I was pretty disgusted with her. But we find out soon that all isn't as it appears and they pair is able to reconnect. Still, I didn't particularly love them as a couple and I was pretty ready for their story to be over. However, the circumstances surrounding their soap opera romance were sort of dangerous and fascinating, so it kept me interested to the end. But I didn't really love it. ( )

I read this entire story in a night, I couldn't put it down. And here's why...Alexei.

Alexei was the ultimate...I adored his dirty talk, the way he dictated what he would do to Eva before even touching her. I thought that was extremely hot. I loved this book even more than the first in the series. I enjoyed the internal struggles between Eva and Alexei. And I'm a sucker for well written 'I-had-a-baby-and-didn't-tell-you-cause-I-love-you', which this was.

Sigh...it's a DIK, for sure. I'll stop gushing. Read this book. ( )

Her Russian Billionaire by Theodora Taylor is a perfect example of plot development at its best. The story starts out with a young couple enjoying college life until disaster strikes. The plot continues to wow me as I follow the strained reunion between Alex and Eva. Both are shocked to see the other, but Eva is even more terrified because she’s been harboring a secret. I like that Eva and Alex are very different but make a perfect match. Alex is almost stuffy yet falls for a woman that is anything but. She manages to balance out Alex’s personality. The story keeps building and developing and is far from predictable. Many surprises, such as finding out the real true reason for Eva leaving and the depth of Alex’s uncle’s manipulation, are quite shocking. A bit of humor also goes a long way in making this a well-rounded novel. Eva being kidnapped at the airport and given a makeover prior to meeting Alex is hilarious. Every story needs antagonists to make it interesting and there are plenty to go around. I enjoyed this story and thought the plot and characters were memorable
