Smart, attractive, and ambitious, thirty-seven-year-old Dara Harrison is, nonetheless, still single—and on sabbatical from dating. Ironically Los Angeles’ most renowned relationship advice columnist, Dara has become a Southland sensation with her “tell-it-like-it-is” approach to the mating game. Parlaying her success into a new business, Dara launches a revolutionary dating service geared for the perennially single and romantically challenged. Its no-holds-barred theme soon makes the company a roaring success, even catapulting Dara onto the national talk show scene—until, of course, it all backfires. With her company under threat and a publicity stunt gone haywire, Dara is forced to join the ranks of her lonely heart clientele, and suddenly realizes that saving the business she cherishes, means facing her lifelong fears—and maybe even falling in love again. Witty, poignant, and immensely engaging, this romantic comedy from the bestselling author of Wedlocked: A Novel features sparkling dialogue, colorful characters, and a story that pulls you in and never lets you go.… (más)

Losing a job never worked out so well. Dana Harrison lost her job as a columnist for the love lorn and decided she would use her advising talents to open a unique dating service along with her friend Reggie.

She and Reggie were having such fun, and you will have fun as well. This book was light, hilarious, and will definitely brighten up your day.

The characters are loveable, funny, talented, and perky....the kind of friends we would all love to have and the kind of person we would love to be. You will love Dara and will relate to her predicaments. Mallory the cat is loveable as well.

This is the second of Bonnie Trachtenberg's books that I have read. She is a wonderful author with great storylines.

If you need a lift, pick up this book, and you will laugh along with the characters and share in their fun and success. Somewhat predictable, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and after reading it, you may fall in love all over again. :) ENJOY!!! 4/5

This book was given to me free of charge and without compensation by the author in exchange for an honest review. ( )

Dara Harrison is an advice columnist. In fact, her “tell-it-like-it-is” approach has made her the most popular advice columnist in Los Angeles. On this reputation, she starts a new business, a dating service specifically for those unfortunate souls who have no luck with romantic endeavors. Every new business has it bumps in the road, and Dara’s is no different. Not long after launching the business, she finds herself battling a law-suit and dealing with a publicity stunt that backfired on her. She’s forced back into the dating world to prove her methods really do work. You see, Dara, the foremost authority on relationships in Los Angeles, is single. In fact, she’s more like the romantically challenged individuals who use her dating service than she’d like to admit.
Neurotically Yours is by far one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. It’s entertaining, emotional, and realistic. This book is hard to put down. It’s bursting with laugh-out-loud moments and filled with colorful characters, from Dara who is quirky and witty, to Reggie who is the perfect down-to-earth counterpart to Dara’s quirkiness, to Jesse who is Dara’s number one fan and very eccentric neighbor, and several very interesting members of Dara’s dating service. Bonnie Trachtenberg has a gift for bringing her characters to life and making that emotional connection with the reader. She has so skillfully crafted this story that it seems more like you’re watching a movie than reading a book. ( )
