( ) A Killer Maize is the 4th book in the A Farmer's Market Mystery series. An informational and fun series for sure. Becca Robbins and three other vendors from the Bailey's Farmers Market have asked to help the Swayton County Fall Fair and Festival by setting up there stalls at the fair. When Becca arrives the next day police cars are at the fair and she sees that the Ferris Wheel operator, Virgil, has been shot is hanging from the top chair. Becca had tried to befriend Virgil the day before, but he seemed to be very secretive. And add to this Becca's second husband, Scott, has shown up, much to her surprise. Now that the killing has brought more people to the fair, the Bailey vendors have decided to stay through the end of the fair. Becca has noticed that her ex is acting very suspicious and has the plans for the roller coaster that has had a rail break that could have resulted disastrous accident. So with the help of her friend, Ian, Becca set off the try and figure out who the killer is and to learn about the mystery surrounding the corn maze. An engaging story for an appetizing series. This series started out weak, but with each book it's gotten better and A Killer Maize is the best one so far. The characters have become so much more likeable, and the setting in South Carolina is well illustrated. The mystery in this book is truly a mystery. I honestly had no idea at all what was going on with the murder, the town, the people - until the author revealed it to Becca. Ms. Shelton could have done a smoother job in bringing us to that point - sometimes it felt like she'd forgotten what she'd written a couple of chapters back - but since I seem to be one of those readers that remember *everything*, I concede I'm probably being too hard on her here. All in all, I really enjoyed this book and I'm so glad I stuck with the series. I look forward to the next book! A Killer Maize is the 4th book in the A Farmer's Market Mystery series. A few of the vendors from the Bailey Farmer's Market, including Becca Robbins and her jam decide to take a turn at selling at a nearby county fair for a couple weeks. What she doesn't expect to find is her ex, Scott #2, manning a shooting gallery and the unexpected death of the ferris wheel operator. Shelton's stories incorporate some of the smoothest storytelling and great secondary characters to get to the bottom of Becca's latest mystery. Her parents are available for background information, her fraternal twin Alison for reason and both Ian and Sam have pivotal roles. I really enjoy this series and will patiently wait for the next one. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

"The last person Becca expects to run into at the Swayton County Fall Festival is her ex-husband, Scott Triplett, who's operating a shooting gallery. Honesty was not always Scott's policy, and their unexpected reunion is further complicated when the festival becomes a crime scene. On Becca's second day there, Ferris wheel operator Virgil Morrison is found hanging from his rickety ride, dead from a gunshot"--Page 4 of cover. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
