Indispensible guide for maintaining your bike and riding safely and stylishly. With the rise in popularity of cycling, this is a well-pitched and timely guide for ladies who cycle. You might have ridden like the wind when you were 12, but how do you cycle successfully now that you wear skirts and high heels? Packed with useful tips and advice, learn all of the cycling essentials, such as how to choose your trusty steed, staying safe on the road, fixing a puncture, and selecting the best lock for your bicycle. And there’s the really important stuff to consider too: combating helmet hair, wearing a skirt without losing your dignity, and choosing the most stylish accessories. Accompanied by stunning illustrations and quotes from high-profile (and sometimes unlikely) cyclists including Beyoncé, 50 Cent, and Albert Einstein, Heels on Wheels is the perfect guide for any lady hopping back in the saddle.… (más)

Unfortunately, this wasn't the guidebook I was looking for. It is a supportive and encouraging "get started" kind of book, but doesn't have enough detail to be really useful. Some of the FAQs in the back were helpful, but the rest just wasn't detailed. It doesn't even, for instance, tell you what that hand signals are. The illustrations are cartoony, which is cute, but not helpful for figuring out acutally how to change a bike tire. ( )
