The creepiest thing was a description of a serial killer stopping along the highway, going into a nearby community & killing someone, and then getting back into his car and driving on.
Interstates have, often on purpose, divided American cities along race and economic lines. Serial killers often prey on poor, powerless people--"throwaway people." I found the chapter on truck stop prostitutes especially fascinating. A lot of truck stop prostitutes have to get killed before anyone even notices.
Good, good book. ( )
