Whilst I don't have a child old enough yet to warrant the worries outlined in this book (he is only a toddler), I wanted to find out what it is I should know when the time comes. Yes, I know it'll all have changed in the next few years but I do know that even at nursery he has access to a computer and whilst it is supervised by staff he does know what a computer is and can click randomly on things on YouTube at home in the blink of an eye - even when he is sitting on my knee and we're just looking up normal songs.

As I work in an education setting some of the sections weren't as applicable to me as those parents who don't - such as the school's policy etc. However it was good to see this chapter as many parents don't always feel comfortable or indeed confident talking to the teachers about this. Whilst on the topics of the chapters, I think they're such a range of information that this is quite a definitive guide for anyone who either isn't computer savvy or just doesn't really know the extent of what their children can access online.

The book is very user friendly and offers comments from the children who the author spoke to during her research. It is informative and insightful, offering useful websites and a glossary for those who need it. Overall, it is a good book and one I'd share with others. ( )
