Really a barebones taste of writing. I like it for what it is though there isn't a lot to it. Still nicely done. Good counting book. ( )

Every night before she goes to bed Melinda counts all the lights she can see starting with one seashell on the nursery wall to one million twinking stars. I like the book at first when Melinda was counting things in her house, but then she ventures out into the night and counts things in the city where people are holding up flashlights to the sky. Why? I don't understand that part. I do not think this book is effective. ( )
