InscrÃbete en LibraryThing para averiguar si este libro te gustará. Actualmente no hay Conversaciones sobre este libro. Es la biogarfia de Gabriela mistral. Is a bilingual book. This is the story of Gabriela Mistral. A biography written in English and Spanish where Gabriela Narrates her story in first person point of view. Gabriella starts telling her story about when she was a little girl and how she got interested in listening and reading stories from other people. She started to be interested in poetry since she was a little girl in school. She pretended to be a teacher and taught her classmates the alphabet, until she grew up and became a real teacher. As she traveled the world she met a lot of teachers, and she was proud that the stories she wrote where also traveling around the world. She got the novel price of literature, and she continued to write stories. I would use this book in the classroom because is written in Spanish and English, so students from different backgrounds can understand and identify with Gabriela in how she liked to read and write stories. "My name is Gabriela Mistral. It is a name I chose myself because I like the sound of it. I love words and sounds and stories." Gabriela's first-person narration describes her childhood and her early love for words and stories, and how she became a teacher and writer ("I taught the children of Chile, and many of my students became teachers themselves"). Gabriela also traveled - to Europe, the U.S., and Mexico - and "My stories traveled the world with me. "And because people from all over the world loved my stories so, I was given a very special prize - the Novel Prize for Literature [in 1945]." A capsule biography follows the main text. All text is in both English and Spanish; Parra's illustrations elevate an important book about an important writer. See also: Sharuko (same author) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
