A dull, pointless story. With all that Penny Jordan wrote, I guess it's inevitable she'd run out of strong plot ideas, especially considering this is Harlequin formulaic territory where the branch of the playing field can't be stretched out far. It holds some potential, but not much, and this isn't helped since the characters seem to be driven by lust rather than love. Why on earth would it be convincing that the two could actually have fallen in love with each other with so little interaction, in such a brief moment of time, considering the circumstances? The hero is an ass with little redemption; the heroine is sweet and decent, but why she'd love that guy I have little clue. The connection with Wing Lu, the chinese wife, was predictable. ( )

Started off pretty bad - Jordan's writing style is repetitive, and at times, really simplistic when it comes to telling the story, which being about a girl who takes on a job as a Russian's PR to undertake some sensitive Chinese negotiations, obviously had me being super-critical.

That being said, when she gets to the gold of what people reading the book want, her writing is powerful and emotive, and it's impossible not to fall in love with the heartthrob of the story Vasilii and want to be in the throws of passion with him!

Definitely one I'd pass on to my girl friends. But I might be inclined to read this one again!!! ( )
