Characters were okay, plot was predictable. 3 stars. ( ) Suzannah Phelps has earned the title "The Ice Queen" for her cold impassiveness on the stand as a criminal defense attorney. She is efficient, cool headed and detached. She shakes up cop's stories and makes them look like fools on the witness stand in an effort to seek wins for her clients. After working so hard to build a sterling reputation she will stop at nothing to protect it. When detective John Quigly runs into Suzannah after a case, he notices a flash of fear in her eyes before she quickly conceals it. Being so out of character for her, he trails her and realizes that things are not quite as they seem. As a stalker begins escalating his attacks on Suzannah, John realizes something has to be done to keep her safe despite her refusal to report it to the police. Is the stalker one of the force? A client she failed? A victim? An ex boyfriend? All John knows is that the stubborn attorney is going to get herself killed unless someone steps up to protect her. As John pushes his way past her defenses and puts his life on the line, he begins to realize that there is much more to the Ice Queen than meets the eye. As sparks fly and temperatures rise, will he turn his back on his fellow officers to protect her? Will he be able to maintain such close proximity without losing his heart? Will this stubborn cop be the one to melt all Suzannahs defenses? A thrilling suspense novel with a delicious mix of romance, adrenaline, and surprises! With non-stop action, excellent characters, and an exciting plot, Guarding Suzannah is a book you will not want to put down until the final chapter ends. A must read! sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
