The stories had great plot twists, and were fun to read. i did wish they had been a little longer, though -- they seemed to be cut off a bit at the end. Overall, though, they were fun to read, and I look forward to reading more by Russell Brooks. Unsavory Delicacies is a delightful collection of three short stories and the perfect introduction to those unfamiliar with the author Russell Brooks. Creme Brulee – deals with a cunning women who uses her beauty to deal with a illegitimate transaction. To the Last Bite – tells the story of a food critic who is bent on destroying every place he eats at. Shashlyk and Morozhenoe – tells the story of a man who finds himself on the wrong side of the Russian Mafia. If you are looking for a short and fast paced read this may just be the book for you and I highly recommend it. I enjoyed this collection as much as I did the Pandoras Succession. I look forward to seeing what Russell Brooks comes up with next. This review was first published on http://everybookhasasoul.wordpress.com sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

We’ve all heard the expression ‘hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’. In ‘To the Last Bite’, a chef knocks the socks off a scorned woman…I have a very sound piece of advice: take care not to upset a chef before you’ve sampled his food.
This was a most enjoyable read. Small though these little snacks might be, Russell packs nice juicy filling ingredients of tension, suspense, and wryness, into them, leaving you pleasantly satisfied.
