Fun Batman pastiche romp within England making them more than the window dressing characters revived by Morrison. ( ) British Superhero Knight, and his Sidekick Squire, battle undead monarchs, malfunctioning super-suits, and the Joker in this collected miniseries. I enjoyed this series very much myself. Knight is a middle-aged man who has climbed his way up from the gutters and a crippling alcohol addiction. He maintains his compassionate and self-mocking persona despite the fact that he is supposed to be England's version of Batman, a superhero known for being a "dark" character. The British slang can be hard to understand at times but many of the references are periodically explained at the end of each issue/chapter. For the most part the writer's keep the main characters understandable to all English-speaking audiences. I was particularly bothered by a scene with Squire, the Knight's female sidekick in which her date lashes out at her calling her "a moron" for discovering his secret identity. This happens in front of the Knight and his butler, while the Knight stands up for her, he still encourages the relationship, while the butler tells Squire that she and her date are both looking for excuses not to see each other. Squire then continues to date the young superhero who just verbally lashed out at her. I believe fights are normal in a relationship and that people say things that they don't mean but the fact that this happened on their first date and the reaction was so unreasonable I feel that the reactions by the Knight and his butler were inappropriate. This feels like a failure on the writer's part to write healthy relationships. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
