Philip C. Stead seems to write often about animals interacting with humans. Being an animal lover, I find this cute and intriguing. This story is about a boy who travels to find his teddy bear. On the way, he makes many friends. Of these friends include a goat, an elephant, a whale, and the little girl who now has Frederick. They all travel the sea together in a big blue boat. This is a cute read for students who like animals. ( )

Stead|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1348797822s/10176762.jpg|8391024], and at times it felt a little fractured. In fact, two or three times I flipped the pages back to see if I had accidentally skipped a previous page, that's how much there seemed to be holes in the story. It is nonetheless a very memorable book, and the collage illustrations help set it apart. This is why I finally liked it very much. ( )
