Geri went through many difficult challenges throughout her life, and she never let it weigh her down. She had a dream and went after it not matter what people said. She also never let her CP stop her from following her dream. She shares her life story from her birth to her present and how she ended up where she is now. SHe is a remarkable person and this book shows that. I think that everyone should read this story. ( ) This book was truly amazing and inspirational. This story is about a woman with Cerebral Palsy who overcomes all of her obstacles and does things such as acts on several TV shows and is also a comedian. She takes things such as her struggles and her disabilities and turns them into comedy skits to help people realize that it is okay to laugh at yourself. I would recommend this book to EVERYONE! It is great!! This book was very inspirational and very heart warming. Even though at sometimes this book made you feel uncomfortable, it opened your eyes a lot. I learned about cerebral palsy and how people act with this disease, how they are treated, and also how they feel when other people treat them differently. This book is warming and you get a lot out of this book, and you become a different person after reading this. This book is so revealing in all the ways it should be. I love Geri's honesty as she told of her birth and accident before it. She was so mistreated and still rose to accomplish things that others i her situation died from. I could not put this book down as I was moved by her emotional struggles. I surely would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good, transparent, honest book to read. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Born with cerebral palsy, Geri Jewell made history when she became the first person with a disability to be cast in a recurring role on a TV series in the 1980s sitcom The Facts of Life. After her big break she appeared on stage and screen with George Burns, Robin Williams and Shirley Maclaine, to name but a few. But behind closed doors, things were not as happy as they seemed on screen. Through her book, Geri allows readers to see beyond the one-dimensional hero image and gives a true glimpse of the very real pain and unquestionable faith in the human spirit.
