An exhaustive catalogue, carefully observed (for the time), with much detail on both creation and conservation. The text volume is particularly insightful on the craft of cutting, painting and firing (instead of vapouring on about looks) even including full-size cross-sections of cames medieval and modern. As with Tristram, I'm particularly impressed with the redrawings of individual quarries and pieces of painted glass, which are accurate and don't fall into Victorian habits of prettifying but stay true to the medieval and renaissance aesthetic. Many of the pieces are shown actual size, which is invaluable for anyone wishing to create a medieval-style window. (For some reason, most stained glass books give no idea at all of dimensions, either of piece or whole window) sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
