The only reason I gave this book 5 stars was because I couldn't think of a single thing I didn't like about the book. Which is saying something, because Science is my least favorite subject. Plus the book inspired me to look up stuff I thought was interesting. ( ) Beautifully illustrated and nicely written. It's not "amazing" since it doesn't really use the comic book format to explain things much better than an illustrated text would; the framing device (aliens studying human life) is largely unhelpful. I felt like I learned a lot more from Hosler's 'Sandwalk Adventures'. I was skeptical of this book at first, but actually really enjoyed it. It proved very informative and covered a lot of information in an easily understood way; certain parts even made me laugh. "Evolution..." explains, in comic book form, how life evolved on earth from the very beginning of time to the present. This book covers a lot of information that typically could be very dry and drawn out in a fun way while still getting the information across. I love the idea of having comic books/graphic novels in the classroom as a way to potentially appeal to "nonreaders" or students that really have a passion for comic books.
