A cute story but waaay too much sex for a longer novel let alone something that only checked in at an hour and a half on my Kindle. Some of the sex scene page time could have been used to address a few unanswered questions I had or scenes I wanted to see. Some backstory for Jude, I mean I didn't even realise the guy was British until 72%. Danny suggests they meet up for dinner but the dinner never took place (at least not on page) nor was it mentioned. An explanation as to what Steve was hiding and a bit more time spent with Rex's family. Jude made his first appearance in Sweet Reunion and he was so nice that the author decided to give him his own story. He is a little mysterious and not only since few knew why he first came to Sutter’s Bay; actually that is one of the secrets he reveals to Rex pretty soon, while, without Rex quite being conscious of that, most of his real secrets remain hidden. Jude is from England, he has a British accent, but we don’t actually have many info on his background if not that he inherited the love for flowers and plants from his grandmother. Jude is a troubled soul, and losing his former boyfriend didn’t help his inner balance. His colorful looks, his using of make-up, are all layers he puts on to not let people see his true self. Rex instead is open and friendly, he is not uncaring, but his “light” attitude is what probably Jude needs. Apparently Rex is not searching to help Jude, meaning that he is not there giving out advices like candies, and Jude feels safe enough to let him near, believing maybe one like Rex will not intrude into his trouble. But Rex is everything other than uncaring, and as soon as he is able to tight a bond with Jude, he will do everything to not let Jude running away. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0041VYBUO/?tag=elimyrevandra-20 sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Five years ago, British transplant, Jude, left San Francisco after the tragic murder of his lover, Martin. Heartbroken, he settled in Sutter's Bay and opened a small flower shop, hoping that surrounding himself with bright colors and pretty things -- living things -- would somehow lessen the anguish he felt over his loss.Jude never expects to find a love like he shared with Martin ever again. Certainly a love like theirs won't come along twice in a lifetime. But then Jude meets sexy Rex Warner, the new veterinarian in Sutter's Bay, and he can't help but wonder if his luck has changed. Will Rex be able to stop Jude from dwelling on the painful past and look toward a promising future instead?
