But just as Janey enters this world of too much money and too few morals, unseen forces conspire to bring her down, forcing her to reexamine her values about love and friendship-and how far she's really willing to go to realize her dreams.

Además, Janey se ha hecho una de las mejores amigas de Mimi Kilroy, que está deseando presentarla al acaudalado Selden Rose, el responsable de una nueva serie televisiva. A diferencia de sus anteriores conquistas, Selden es el tipo perfecto para casarse. Lamentable: 600 páginas de banalidades y lugares comunes. El estilo es pretencioso con lo cual la obra ni siquiera resulta entretenida, más bien terriblemente aburrida. La autora ha sido definida una "Jane Austen con Martini" (pobre Jane Austen!!); me parece más atinado hablar de una patética parodia de Scott Fitzgerald. ( )
