You can’t help but enjoy this book! Initially, it starts out a little slowly by introducing all of the characters and the history and ownership of the medical buildings. Edwards is talented at showing the relationship between the doctors and each personality without describing anything – he is a master of “show me, don’t tell me” which is utterly refreshing for a new writer. I was initially a little wary of the medical jargon, but there was only a little and none of it was overwhelming.

The characters in this novel are extremely black and white and you either love them or hate them. It’s a little unfortunate because it makes all of them a little static. I don’t mind disliking characters, but when I despise them, it’s a little exhausting. However, something I liked was that the main protagonists, Jack and Zellie were flawed and not perfect, which made them extremely real to me.

Overall, this is a fantastic thriller and will keep you enthralled. If you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself racing through it to get to the conclusion. Edwards is a very promising writer and I’ll definitely be reading more from him! ( )

This book was a very good reading book. It started with a very troubled man who held people in his graps and used them to do his bidding. Those with the writer who needed extra money coming in was placed in the right place and with an open mind was able to bring to light this troubled individual's attempt to get the demons out of his head and everyone that in his demented state was standing in his way. I enjoyed this book. ( )

When I heard about this medical thriller, I jumped at the chance to review. Being a former CNA and Med Tech and a current Pharmacy Technician, I love everything about the medical field. However, upon sitting down to read this novel, I wasn't as pleased as I thought I would have been. Oh, don't get me wrong, I was hooked on this novel by a truly talented new author, however, it wasn't what I was expected. It was a book that was a bit of drag for me-in other words, there were a few places that just went on and on and I didn't think that the next bit of "thrilling suspense" would ever happen.

That being said, if you love medical TV dramas and such, please get a copy of this book. Just because I find it a bit slow, doesn't mean that you or others will not find it that way. It will hook you until the final page, as you get so engrossed in the story that you just have to know what happens next. Dr. Jack Forester was a character that felt so real to me and came to life as I read this novel. He really was wonderfully created for the part he played in this story of thrills and suspense.

Be warned though. While this is a 3 star book in my opinion, if you have problems with the use of the F-bomb, then this is not the book for you, because there are lots of instances where Edwards does use that word. So, I encourage you to form your own opinion of this novel and grab a copy today. It is worth the read if you love this style of book and can over look the slower parts. Kudos to Frank Edwards for putting forth his talent in a debut novel! ( )
