"Watch Out! A Giant!" tells the tale of two children trying to escape a giant. They must crawl through secret passageways, trap doors and tunnels. They eventually find their way back home and the reader discovers the two children were playing a game all along. Eric Carl has fantastic illustrations and the book contains double-sided lift the flap on each page. I really liked this book because it was fun and interactive. I would enjoy reading this book to a younger audience and have them guess what is in each flap. ( )

I love Eric Carle's unique picture books. He does a great job with his colorful illustrations as usual. I loved how he used the double-sided flaps to peek inside the secret places throughout this book which the children used to escape the giant. This book is great for children since they can experience the book through these lovely pictures. ( )

This book tells the story of two young girls who wonder into the yard of a mean giant. The two girls get locked up with all of the giants dark and scary creatures. They eventually escape all of the monsters only to be caught once again by the giant. The giant then puts them on a plate and is about to eat them when…. The girls mother calls them inside and promises they can play giant again tomorrow. This lets the reader know that it was all in their imagination. The illustrates within this book contain very creative interactive elements that any small child would love to play with. These elements include small holes and various flaps and doors that look onto the next or previous page. Each page contains very interesting imagery and uses a great deal of imagination. This would be a great book for any young student to read individually. ( )

I loved the illustrations and the interactive flaps all throughout the book. The story did not seem to have a solid plot, however it was a good representation of a child's imagination. ( )

This one was strange for me. There wasn't very many words. This illistrations were really great and told the story more than the words, but there were thes flaps that you are supposed to open and a lot of them just didn't make sense. ( )
