For years now Richard Prince has been collecting first editions including well-established, trash and pop literature. These were set in scene and photographed by artists. The present layout confronts the American edition on one page of the spread with the English edition on the other, creating not only a bibliophilic event, but a subjective piece of cultural history: the cover designs are often so different that only the title allows you to recognize that these are based on the same work. In the introduction, the artist tells the story of his years of engagement with this project. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
In American English, artist and book collector Richard Prince contrasts his collection of American first edition books with their British counterparts, photographing the pairings in individual staged environments. A must for the bibliophile and a special kind of cultural history from an artist's point of view. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
