I can't believe this thread never saw any action. Cheezy and awesome, that's what I think! Of course, I'd also like to visit Dollywood.

It's hard to get a sense of scale on the site. "World" might be overdoing it just a bit. In fact it looks much smaller than the "Dickens Fair" they have here in San Francisco every year in the Cow Palace.

But I sort of do want to help Magwitch escape the hulks.

Dolly Parton and Charles Dickens unashamedly Love Kitsch. That is their Joy! and they allow us to share it with them.

Yes I like Henry James, Tolstoy, etc., but it is so easy to Love Dickens.

Has anyone actually been? I too suspect it will be tiny but I am also agog to have a go.

I think I'm turned off by the part where "visitors can immerse themselves in the sights, sounds and smells of 19th century England" (from this Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dickens_World). I'm quite happy to just imagine the smells of Victorian London and not actually live them!

That is, of course, depending on just how authentic this theme park gets...
