Freedom from the Known - it essentially speaks of the psyche...
Our memory, a part of the whole being, have two different implecations. The mechanical part is important, otherwise we could not get back to our shelters every day (i.e. if we forget our addresses). So this essence of the memory is necessary.
There is another kind of behaviour of our memory - the collection of personal tastes, images of appraisal or hurt etc. gather together and form a centre, the ego, the essence of I is born - that which we also know as psyche! The chain of action - reaction goes on based on the psychic records.. and many of our Personality related, Relationship related and hence Socio-econo-political malfunction roots in the vested memory projections!
So it is essential to understand properly the true nature of Knowledge (accumulation of past experiences) and be careful in application of it. Speaking elaborately, we must learn the limitations of accumulated knowledge.
Knowledge may produce Technological marvels, but it can ruin relationships also, bring mass destruction.
So for someone interested in search of true meaning of life or the self, must be free from the Known! This lack of inner freedom is what resists the true revolution because the evolution (including constructive mutation) is stuck!
